A local geographic number (e.g. an 02, 03, 07, or 08 number) gives a business a presence in a city or region without needing an office there – calls simply route through to wherever the team is actually answering from.
13, 1300, and 1800 numbers work the other way around: they give a single, memorable national number that can route to different teams, locations, or times of day, while callers pay a flat local-call rate (1300) or nothing at all (1800). Both number types can be set up alongside existing office extensions and routed with the same call-flow rules as any other line.
